- It is recommended by insurance carriers to pre-determine treatment prior to beginning treatment. A pre-determination will tell the patient exactly how much their insurance company is willing to reimburse them before their treatment begins. As a courtesy, Pi Dental Center will submit a pre-determination form to the insurance company upon a patient's request.
- Most dental plans do not cover the costs of the implants (hardware) or the surgeons' fee for the placement of the implants.
- Most plans give an alternate benefit for the prosthesis (crown or bridge) that goes over the top of the implant up to the allowable limits of the individual plan.
- In a small number of instances, the insurance company will deny any benefits for the crown or bridge if it is related to the implant.
- Patients should check their insurance handbook to see if their company plan pays for these services or their policies exclude these procedures.
- Patients may also check with their individual companys individual Human Resources Department to see if implantology coverage is available with their plan.
- Medical, auto insurance or homeowners plans will pay for some services only if related to an accident.
- Our office policy requires payment for service as it is rendered.
- As a courtesy to our patients, Pi Dental Center does process patient insurance forms.
