Accentuates Aging

At Pi Dental Center, dental implants have been used successfully for patients as old as 95 years of age.

Bone loss is a major problem for dental patients who have had teeth extracted. When teeth are extracted, the bone of the jaw continuously will wear away, gradually causing the face to look older. This process also can make dentures loose and difficult to wear. As shown in the photographs below, the area between the nose and lips becomes shorter while the chin appears closer to the tip of the nose, giving the face a collapsed appearance. This can create an appearance of sadness. Both the appearance and poor functionality of ill fitting dentures prompted this patient to seek dental implant treatment.
